Baked Goods

Baking has definitely been a passion of mine for awhile and along with my dreams of becoming a business owner, interior decorator, and party planner, I would also love to run my own cupcake business! The majority of baked goods on this page will probably cupcakes, but I occasionally like to try other things as well. My favorite things to bake are definitely holiday themed! I will try to provide instructions with pictures for every post on this page so that everyone that sees these will be able to recreate whatever tickles his/her fancy!

Eyeballs: Take 2

So, this past week I went to Waco to babysit my beautiful cousins for a couple days and since I always made cupcakes when I lived with my mom, my cousin Tyler requested that he and I make some cupcakes as a team during my stay! So, we decided to make the infamous eyeball cupcakes! This time however, I didn't have any liquid red dye so I had to use some red icing! The key to this art is all in the piping! For more detailed instructions, please scroll down to my original eyeball cupcakes.

Valentine's Day 2014

For this Valentine's Day, Dillon and I had kind of a boring day to be honest. He had big plans that ended up being ruined because Houston is such a freakin' busy city! And I had plans to have the house spotless, homework done, and baked sweets on the table for him when he got home from work, but the power was out for six hours (Darn you, Houston!). I still managed to bake delicious cupcakes and brownies for him though. And even though we had to go to a Subway because every other place was packed and we were starving, we still spent some quality time together and I got my homework done by the end of the day! These cupcakes are funfetti (his favorite) with vanilla icing and red sugar sprinkles. With a little help from a Walmart cupcake kit that included lovely cupcake liners with little paper hearts on toothpicks, these babies turned out cute!

Eyeballs!

These were this year's (2013) Halloween project/treat! I found these on Pinterest and thought I'd try it out. With a little help from my very own Pumpkin (my handsome cat), I completed the project and was pretty satisfied with the result! The eyeballs aren't as white as I wanted them to be because I bought the Funfetti Halloween vanilla icing forgetting that it would be orange and not white. And don't worry - Pumpkin didn't get any closer to the cupcakes. I used Funfetti Halloween cake mix to make the cupcakes and then used different shades of icing and food coloring and gummy lifesavers to make them look like eyeballs. Then I used cute Halloween goodie bags and black polka dot ribbon to package each individual cupcakes so that they could be given as a gift.

Valentine's Day Rice Krispie Treats

I made these Valentine's Day of 2013 for my coworkers. They're rice krispie treats cut out in the shape of hearts topped with white chocolate and Valentine's Day Sprinkles. They were a big hit and they also sold at our company's holiday fundraiser for cancer!
